rise, reimagine, and reinvent
44th Annual National Conference
November 18-20, 2024 | Phoenix, AZ
Today’s adolescent experience unfolds with breathtaking speed.
Embrace it. Time, tech, and trends wait for no one.
Stay curious. There is power in trying new things, in asking bold questions.
Keep listening. Take it all in. What young people need is ever-changing.
Do something—anything. It won’t be perfect, but it will be something.
At #HealthyTeen24, we’ll extend a hand to the willing and wavering—to the dreamers and doers cheering on change and to those imploring, “steady as we go.” We’ll forge connections with new colleagues under the desert stars. We’ll reflect on what sets today’s young people apart. And we’ll strain, stretch, and shift our understanding of innovation until it colors our everyday work.
Low-budget, low-tech, no matter. Sometimes, it’s the tiny acts that make the greatest change.
Our work is a journey, not a destination. Today’s trends may be tomorrow’s tropes, but with the right mindsets, we’ll be ready for what(ever) the future may hold.
Like a phoenix, we’ll rise, reimagine, and reinvent.
Be part of the magic at #HealthyTeen24.
you’ve got what we need
The #HealthyTeen24 Call for Proposals is NOW OPEN!
We warmly invite you to submit a proposal for a skills-building workshop, roundtable discussion, or learning add-on experience. And as always, we especially encourage you to collaborate with young people to prepare your proposal and join you to present.
Workshop Sessions feature an individual, group, or panel presentation for 75 minutes. Sessions must be engaging and interactive, and presenters must build in time for questions.
Roundtable Sessions share information with a smaller group, conversation-style for 45 minutes. Presenters deliver a brief presentation (slides optional) and then lead an engaging discussion without slides.
Learning Add-Ons are 3- or 6-hour training sessions that aim to provide a deep dive into one specific topic area for a small group. These sessions happen before the first general session of the conference (on Monday, November 18th). As the name implies, these sessions are a separate, additional cost for attendees.
This year, we are especially interested in sessions on topics, such as…
- Access to comprehensive education and services, including abortion
- Building support for adolescent sexual and reproductive health goals, education, and care
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Engaging with parents/caregivers
- Engaging with young people
- Healing-centered and trauma-informed approaches
- Innovation
- Reproductive justice
- Social justice
- Today’s unique adolescent experiences
- Working in more conservative communities
- Young parents and families
- Youth-friendly programs and services
But don’t let this list stop you! If you’ve got something you think is relevant and of interest to others in our field, we welcome your submissions! We know you’ve been doing amazing work, and we can’t wait to connect and share with you!
Submit your proposal by May 2, 2024.
Speaking not your thing? No worries! Maybe you’d like to consider one of our exhibiting and advertising sponsorship opportunities?

The “Must-Attend” Conference
We are the go-to network for connecting youth-supporting professionals with the opportunities, training, and tools they need to empower the next generation to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
Our vast membership network of more than 5,600 affiliates is made up of diverse adolescent sexual and reproductive health professionals.
We know youth-supporting professionals do their best when they’re connected to great opportunities and resources—and with others working in sexual and reproductive health. And when they are well-supported, we see more positive outcomes for the youth they serve.
As a conference sponsor, you can join us in doing this important work.
Sponsorship opportunities include Premier Sponsorships and Boost Your Brand Sponsorships.

What's Included?
Learning Add-ons
Learning Add-Ons (formerly called pre-conference institutes) take place on the Monday before the conference's first general session and are an additional cost. These full- and half-day training sessions have limited capacity, and your spot is only secured upon registration and payment.
Without a paid registration, Healthy Teen Network cannot guarantee that you will be able to attend your preferred session. If we cannot fulfill your request, you may choose another Learning Add-On (if available), or we will refund your money.
Payment Deadlines
All payments made by check or purchase order must be received by 11/1/2024. After that date, you must pay by check or credit card on-site to gain admittance to the conference. Attendees with outstanding balances will be refused admission. Our new mailing address is PO Box 741, Churchville, MD 21028.

Guiding Principles
At our conference, all content shared (in any form) by speakers, presenters, and sponsors (including exhibitors and advertisers) must be aligned with our Guiding Principles.
This requirement means that all content (e.g., curricula, programs, activities, etc.) must be:
- Youth-friendly;
- Inclusive and affirming of all young people; and
- Comprehensive, including when age-appropriate, information and/or services about sexual and reproductive health—including the full range of birth control methods and all pregnancy options (to be clear: abortion, adoption, and parenting).
For example, information/services promoting sexual risk avoidance education, abstinence-only-until-marriage programs, crisis pregnancy centers, or anti-abortion campaigns are not in alignment with our Guiding Principles and are not eligible to be shared or promoted at the Healthy Teen Network conference.
We reserve the right to reject any session or sponsorship, at our discretion.
Recommended Travel Times
We often get asked when the activities begin and end, so participants can plan their travel.*
We recommend:

- Arrive in Phoenix by 1:00 PM MST** on Monday, November 18 for the conference welcome and first general session at 4:00 PM MST.
- Schedule departure flights for 6:30 PM MST or later on Wednesday, November 20 (the final general session ends at 4:00 PM MST).
*Times and content are subject to change.

Student Registrations
To receive the student registration rate, we require student registrants to provide some type of verification that they are enrolled, full-time, in a secondary, undergraduate, or graduate degree program for the Fall 2024 semester. A letter from the department chair, enrollment verification letter, or any documentation with the school’s official seal/emblem is acceptable. Email documentation to Monique Davis.
Lead Presenter Discount
Workshop and roundtable session lead presenters (one per session) receive a 15% discount on the main conference registration fee and will receive a unique discount code to use when registering. Co-presenters do not receive this discount.
Learning Add-On lead trainers receive a 100% full conference registration, as part of their support and compensation for this more intensive training session.
